Emily Diers

Emily Diers is the founder of bodycraft, and lifelong student of movement. she began dancing at age 5 outside of Chicago, studied dance at the conservatory for performing arts at Point Park University, and danced professionally in NYC for 12 years.

searching for a way to earn a better living with her gifts and experience, Emily entered the fitness space in 2013 after a long stint of waitressing. she began her career under a celebrity trainer and five years later was ready to spread her wings and embark on her own journey. bodycraft was born in 2018 from a desire to offer a more process-oriented, encouraging approach to movement. her style is energizing, spiritual, and thoughtful - always bringing a high understanding of complex movement patterns to her programming, and prioritizing joy, play, and sensuality.

Emily has trained the likes of Ellen Pompeo, Naomi Watts, and Julianne Moore, dancers and non dancers alike, pre and post natal parents, beginners, children, the elderly, and regular folks dealing with the ups and downs of being a human. it is a core belief of hers that movement should meet you where you are. there is always a possibility.

this class is the heart of bodycraft. from start to finish, we create a seamless, fluid journey in and out of the floor, alternating between dance cardio and mat toning. this is a full body experience, with dynamic movement meant to take up space. we close with a cool down and nourishing meditation. you will leave feeling cleansed and energized, and more connected to yourself.

are you looking to dig a little deeper in your movement practice? this class accesses our depth. we'll work with heavier resistances (5-lb and 10-lb weights) to build strength, improve balance, and still maintain a fluid, dynamic range of motion. all the complexities of compound movement, but with a little more oomph.

  • wednesdays 6.30am

this class is designed to efficiently energize you for your day, help you stabilize and ground into your core, and melt any tension. we'll begin with a gentle warm up (it's 6am!), incorporate fascia flossing, and transition into bodyweight strength and stability work. it's a gentler energy so you feel awake, but not spent.

leave it all on the dance floor! this class is for anyone who loves the high from straight dancing. we'll include a warm-up and about 25 minutes of dance cardio, learn some choreography, and finish with a cool down. all levels can take this class, and we will break it down for you.
